Safety Data Sheets
Safety Data Sheets (SDS), also referred to as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), are required documents for communicating information about the properties of chemicals (substances and mixtures) in the work place.
At Sci-Ba our multi-disciplinary approach and specialists are able to provide a complete service for the preparation of SDS documents in under the United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS) for the classification and labeling of chemicals as represented in South Africa by SANS 10234. Materials need to be assessed in three categories including physical, human health and environmental hazards.
Sci-Ba comprises several independent, commercial laboratories designed to perform a multitude of tests on a wide variety of materials. In particular, our Environmental Laboratory has been specifically designed to perform all the physico-chemical and mineralogical tests on chemical substances and mixtures for the development of SDS. Our laboratories work together with our team of specialist consultants to ensure that only the most appropriate tests are performed to save you time and money and data is interpreted and reported correctly for accurate assessment of associated risks.
